I was the lead developer for the Lyst: Fashion DNA campaign undertaken during my time at DEPT® agency.
As a global fashion search engine, Lyst has market-leading knowledge and data on worldwide fashion trends. We wanted to use that data to create a campaign that celebrates the differences between countries and people, and the fusion of fashion ideologies, through a highly-interactive, multi-part quiz that generates a series of fun, personalised results, in an effort to promote an engaging user experience, and encourage social sharing.
We were very lucky that the client didn’t have many restrictions, and they were fully with our idea of "making something memorable". We wanted to make the user experience as much fun as possible from the get-go, with each question slightly different from the last, to keep it engaging from start to finish. We looked at different micro-interactions and explored how we could fit them into the journey, from parallax features to the ability to drag-to-reveal, and being able to type out your answer. The possibilities were endless during discovery and design.
However, the main guideline that we set ourselves was to make it as intuitive as possible - this campaign would run in multiple countries, so it was paramount that anyone, anywhere, could enjoy the campaign with little instruction.
The campaign was built using Angular, and Tailwind CSS.
